Barnacles Improve Gas Mileage?
What I want to know is where's the rest of the car? Damir spotted this engine block a ways off on the beach (after we'd taken George's picture). Don't be fooled by the deceptively bright background - it was actually quite dark and starting to rain. I like the colours that I managed to capture, while Damir preferred his own black and white shot.

You're right. Where is the rest of the car? I also wonder: who would go to all the trouble of taking the obvioulsy heavy piece of metal and put it on the shore? It is probably some type of post-modern art thing that is too high-brow for me to understand.
I like this shot better than the black and white one (not that the other one isn't good). I like how you can see the rusty colour of the engine. The dark colour of the engine is really brought out by the lighter coloured rocks around it, which, to me, brings out the age of the engine. The other photo doesn't give it the same feeling of antiquity.
