Cherry Blossoms
Haven't much had the inclination to post anything for a couple of days, in spite of having a couple of postable images in the wings. Just wasn't in the mood.
Went to a meeting half way across campus this afternoon that got me wondering why it is that some cherry/apple/whatever trees have already passed the blossom stage while others, sometimes only a few feet away have only just barely started to blossom. I'm sure that there's a reason, but it's not an obvious one.

Microclimates. Plants respond non-linearly to climatic conditions, so even a few feet can make a difference.
