Hearty Stock
Having had to work this past weekend I didn't get out to shoot at all. Today, heading back to the office after lunch I noticed this poppy thriving from a crack in the stairs. It's more than a little surprising, as the seed or root or whatever is a leftover from last summer. During the winter these stairs had several times been liberally dosed with salt/snow melt and you'd expect that this would have left the soil in the crack pretty much sterile. Apparently not.
