Lighthouse #2
Second image from Lighthouse Park.
This image is a little deceptive - it wasn't quite as dark as it appears to be. Rather, this is mostly a result of the processing... I'm not sure I could duplicate it and I don't remember exactly what I did. But I like it.

Kendall - a trick I learned in my last Photoshop class that will allow you to replicate the changes you've made to photos... use Adjustment Layers, instead of adjusting everything from the top menu bar. Then you can just go back to what you've done and see the specifications there. That probably makes little sense to you but I can explain it better in person.
Yes, Alison, that's a good suggestion and I do that fairly often. The problem in this particular case was that I forgot to save the project before I merged the layers in order to create a jpg file for posting. Saving the project first, then the jpg will preserve all that info, but it's very costly in terms of disk space. I was processing one shot where I saved the project and a .jpg and of course still had the original RAW file - all told, for that one image it was over a quarter of a giga-byte. I have 15,000+ pictures so if I was to do that with every picture I'd need almost 4 tera-bytes of storage! But it is a good suggestion. And I'll have to add some more storage capacity to my system soon anyway.
