Cleveland Dam

I'm trying something different today... going back to what I used to do. Lately I find that when I go out with the camera I don't get around to downloading the pictures for a day or two and then it takes me a couple more days to process the best shots and by the time I'm finished it's about a week later and the pictures then seem too old to post - like they're not current enough or something. Silly, I suppose, but it's one of the reasons why I've posted so little lately.

Today I finally got my ass in gear and made my way up to the Cleveland Dam way up Capilano Road. I got there at a reasonable time, spent several hours there (man, what a workout - I'd parked at the dam then worked my way down to the hatchery and had to trek all the way - 1km - up the hill again, toting 30+ pounds of equipment), then about two minutes after I got home I started the picture download and began processing as soon as it was done.

There are probably a few pictures in the batch that deserve attention and I'll try to get to them in the next day or two. In the meantime, I've got this one and probably one or two others ready to go.

As for this picture, I like the lighting/exposure, and the composition worked out great! It's a shot looking straight down the falls from the centre point, but because of the angle it's hard to tell just which way the water is going.
