Spherical Flower

Worked pretty late setting up this blog last night, er, this morning and then got distracted for a while today watching the story about the ferry that ran aground at Horseshoe Bay and just never got out to take any new pictures today. As a result, here's another short from last Sunday morning.

Not that I take a lot of pictures of flowers. I found it near the off-ramp of the bridge and had never seen anything like it before. I have no idea what kind of flower it is, but thought it was kind of neat.

It's looking like rain tomorrow, which doesn't bode well for getting any new pictures, so I may not post anything for a while.

I've just learned that this particular flower is in fact a member of the thistle family, "Echinops Thistle" to be exact.
