Touching Down at Sunset

I wasn't really planning on continuing the sunset series. I actually have a couple of pictures from weekend party that are - or will be when I finish processing - postable. In the meantime, this shot, from this evening, is just about right out of the can, all it needed was a quick crop.

I've had in mind the "catch a 747 landing in sunset" idea for a while now, so was reasonably pleased with this. I'd have preferred a more exciting sunset, and it would be nice to get closer to where the jets actually land (quite a ways down the runway from this vantage point), but this will have to do. For now. I'll probably try this again some other fine sunset evening. Posted by Picasa

I have this real fascination with human nature, maybe because im such a social recluse, but I love how everytime I go to the airport you always see people park their cars in large fields and watch the planes land.

I've never understood the appeal, but i think its so cool how people set up lawn chairs even and just hang out and watch the planes land and take off.
