Day One: Stave Lake

Day one of forty-five days in a row that I don't have to go to work! And how did I start off my holiday? By getting up at 3:00 a.m. for a drive out to Stave Lake, where I've never been before. Seems that I timed it almost perfectly - by the time I'd arrived and got myself set up it was about quarter to five, with the sun still about an hour from cresting the mountains on the other side of the lake.

This is shot was taken just before 5:00 a.m. and is perhaps the first of two pictures that I expect to post from this outing. I also came up with another possible location for an early morning adventure on the way there, so all-in-all, a good morning, and a good start to the holiday.

However, tomorrow morning I'm going to sleep in late - I think I've earned it!
