Fencing in the Colour
I've discovered that I have a 'thing' about fences. In going through the pictures I took in Kamloops I found a lot of them include fences. Like this one.
On Saturday I had the opportunity to go for a bit of a drive in the afternoon. It was a great afternoon. Hot, but not too hot. Gravel road with only the occasional other vehicle and surprisingly not too much dust when they passed. Incredibly quiet locations, except for the wind passing over the grass and trees. In most places there was golden brown grass, green trees, and blue sky.
I almost missed the stand-out colour of this colony of small thistle on the other side of the fence as it was raised above the level of the road at a corner on a hill. Luckily there was space to pull over just around the corner.
In retrospect I think that perhaps I'd have done a better job catching the colour if I'd positioned the camera a little higher but I had wanted to get the foreground grass and flowers as well as the hill/horizon at the back.
