It Is November, Right?
For the last several days the weatherfolk have been promising yet another in our series of November storms for today. It didn't materialize. Whahoo! Instead, it cleared up quite nicely this afternoon and there was no excuse possible for not getting out to enjoy it. Well, I guess all those silly football fans had the excuse of the Grey Cup, but not being a football fan I couldn't use that one, so I went out in search of something to photograph instead.
Today's journey took me to previouly untravelled parts of exurban Ladner. This first image from today (there should be at least one more, possibly two) is perhaps more suited to October than November. You'd think that by now all the pumpkins would have been harvested, but apparently not. I guess this was a bumper year, so much so that there was just no market for these gourds.
Some people passing by, looking at me a little curiously (mom, what's that weird guy doing?) for taking pictures of these pumpkins as though pumpkins on the vine in November are a perfectly understandable normal thing, assured me that these bright orange beauties would in fact be plowed under shortly.
