Hazy Silhouette

This is the one that I picked as the best shot of the city that I got yesterday morning. It's a bit like what I wanted, but leaves room for other opportunities.

What would have made it better? Well, being there earlier in the morning so that I wasn't fighting with the bright well-above-the-horizon sun overloading the haze with glow and washing out the colours; a closer vantage point although there's something to be said for all the sailboat masts in front of the towers; and if the haze was less haze/pollution and more early morning mist/low cloud.

Of course a better camera would help too, but the other items on the list were the things that made this not be the shot I was hoping to get. But the city will still be there for another day, and there are closer vantage points (say, on the dock with the boats?), so I guess I just need to wait for fall when the pollution doesn't hang over the city so much and there's more cloud about in the early morning.

[In all fairness to HP, my camera (HP R707) isn't all that bad - it just wasn't designed for the demands that I'm putting on it. It's really just a point and shoot after all.] Posted by Picasa

Had to do a double-take with the masts - nice effect. Will have to check out this vantage point!

I agree with that Wallenar guy. The masts are definately cool, but not as overshawdowed by the city. For me it really sticks out, like they are the spine of the horizon, or like some sort of fishbone, like the logo for that "3 Stones" clothing line. Fishbone is the name of a band too.

This was taken at Jericho? I think thats what you told me. I didnt know they had wild rabbits out there. There are tons of them, just chillin out and eating cabbage.
