One Behind the Other

I tried to get up early yesterday morning to get some early-light pictures but no dice! The idea was kind of laughable really. My record is better on Sundays, though never quite as early as I plan/hope the night before. I'd like to have been up about an hour earlier this morning, but it just didn't happen. However, with the days getting shorter, pretty soon I'll be able to get up and go wherever I want to take some morning pictures without rushing. Of course the light'll be totally different then too!

For now, this shot from the old pier, or whatever it is, at Jericho Park taken a little after 8:00 this morning will have to do. My goal today was to get a misty morning shot of the city, except that it wasn't really misty over the city this morning - more of a haze actually. And the city appeared to be even further away from Jericho than it usually seems... maybe it was just a trick of the morning light? Trick of light or not, it was a bit of a challenge for my little lens. There's one shot that I might post later, but I'm going to think about it first, as I might want to wait until I get something more in-line with the goal.

Whether I got my shot or not, it was a splendid way to start out a splendid summer day! Posted by Picasa

Green rusty things are always neat to take photos of; it gives me an uncomfortable feeling, thinking of all the saltwater in the air corroding away at metal. Kind of a raw, sore feeling.
