Saturday's Sunset
We had a couple of absolutely phenomenal sunsets this past Friday & Saturday nights. Friday's was unexpected, so by the time I knew that it was a great one it was too late to get any really good shots.
Saturday I was hoping for something good, but found myself regrettably stuck in the car during the best part of it. I did manage to grab this shot, a little late in the event, which perhaps gives a bit of an idea of what it was like, but only just a little.
I'd hoped for another repeat performance on Sunday night and headed out with a plan to capture something stunning, but alas, there was not much spectacular to speak of. Or at least not of the sunset. I did get a shot or two of the billowing plume of smoke from the Burns Bog fire though. Once I'd given up on the sunset I tried to find a closer vantange point for the fire, but by then it was getting too dark and I had to give up. During the night and the day today it continued to burn, covering much of the Greater Vancouver area with smoke and ash.

this is an absolutley ballistic photo: I like how the clouds look so pronounced, and if you turn your head upside down, it would even seem that you're looking down on them, kind of like from an airplane.
